sitting in stl......

starving...........

wife won't answer the phone.........

i guess i'll get something to eat........

I wish i could make a blog entry declaring another OU victory over SEXAT......but alas....no chance....i have spent a few days upset, but the great thing is that i have great set of kids and wife that keep me balanced......always. almost makes me feel bad that i even care that we lost.

but last saturday's 4th quarter debacle made me wonder why i get so worked up about OU football defeats.....i mean i don't worked up like this when our basketball or baseball team loses....so what's the big freakin' deal...

it all comes down to passion. like my family, OU football encompasses my inner being. it's my identity, my brand image, my hobby, it's almost like having a 5th child.....

so i will understand why i get so emotionally attached to my team, why i try to steal one more glimpse of owen field as i leave the stadium....as if it will be my last.......

it's what makes victories and championships so sweet and so addictive......

but again, i think i have finally "started" to mature in my ways, as i begin to have a healthy distinction between game and what is trully important in life.....jeesssh starting sound like an an OSU football fan........

anyhow, i guess it's possible to keep the OU football giant at bay.....at least i don't record every BOB STOOPS playbook show and watch them religiously during the summer time period. it's a start you know..

anyhow, i already miss my boys and wife....can't wait to get back home tomorrow.....

so as usualy, where ever you are.....boomer sooner!

Summer 2008.....

well the this summer will be remembered for a lot of reasons....the one that will definitely stick out is our RETURN to Oklahoma....

it's been a long 5 year journey, but we have survived....become stronger....and i think finally we have come to appreciate the smaller and sometimes ignored parts of life.

the journey has been great in retrospect...Overland Park and Omaha were great towns and we made some great friends....but we ALWAYS longed to get close to family and of course be a heartbeat away from the SOONERS...

BUT NOW....the transition begins....even though this is our 5th move in 9 years....it's never easy. This round of relocation has been especially difficult between a CRAPPY housing market to sell our home in OMAHA and living in 2 hotel rooms with 4 boys. but again...i did mention the little things right?

It's been great fishing and skiing at gramma and papa hammons house...swimming at uncle dave's and for Alex to finally start up Tackle football. the other boys have been very excited to be next to their favorite...PK....and Nick is excited for flag football and his new school, Nathan just loves fishing, and of course Baby Brian doesn't know what's going on...but at least he has a ton of people around.

Any how....time to go....let's pray the house sells and we walk away with at least $1......

by the way, the new gig is great on the VACCINE side; great team....just need to figure out the dosing schedules and my field visit calendar with my reps.

21 days til Sooner kick off....i'm sure i will be back before....

boomer sooner!

POOOORRRR TEXAAAASSSSSSSS!!!

Well the sooners rebounded pretty well this weekend....28-21.

Gut check saturday as they say. Nice win for the sooners....not perfect on defense, but give the shorthorns some credit. Slingin' Sammy Bradford looked awesome. And along with Malcolm Kelly and Demarco Murray, the offense definitely made up for their inept performance up in boulder.

Sooners move up to #6/#5 in the polls, and would be sitting at #2 if they could have held on versus the buffs. Big upset of #2 USC by the 39 point underdog Stanford Cardinal. It's all good.
The sooners look like they are in good position. Crazy season so far.

my top 5

1. LSU

2. California

3. Oklahoma

4. Ohio State

5. Oregon

Great to see the sooners take care of business. the loser of the RRR was in bad shape. Fortunately for the Sooners...4 of 6 at home, including a huge game versus #11 Mizzou in norman next week. ESPN Gameday will be there...and no matter how much ESPN bugs the tar out of me...it's still nice for to have them cover the sooners.

I have officially told the family that we will not be making the 7 hour trip from Omaha. Even though Liz has been a trooper...i think it's still too much for her and the boys. We might break down and make the trip down for the A&M game...

Should be a good game....the defense will have to play discipline ball...i think we show up. the texas and colorado games were good for the team.

traveling back from Rapid City tomorrow.....catch you next week.

welcome....

not the best time to start a blog, as i am still recooping from a surprising loss of my beloved sooners to the buffaloes....

24-27...ugh

many things can be learned from a loss...adversity you know is the light to our true character. as i have been told, it's about how you handle adversity. however, for me, i hate to lose, no matter...i could care less about learning how to lose, i just want to win. but the best thing about losing in a game or in business is that it causes self reflection. it's about being grateful for things that mean the most....family and health (see picture above)...but whether it's for your favorite sports team or business partner, it's about sackin' up, getting over it quickly, and making sure you learn from it.

water under the bridge you know...

i'm sure coach stoops has the team ready for texas...if anything this loss will show them that they can't just roll out there with the idea that the other team is going to give up. my other hope is that coach stoops will learn to stick the dagger in the heart of his opponent, and not continue to hang the defense out to dry. i appreciate playing conservative when you have a 17 point lead, but you can't run the same run stretch play over and over again.

oh well...i will survive. luckily i live in Omaha, and i have a ton of husker fans around me who have shared their thoughts on our loss as well....it's definitley moved me through the 12 steps quickly...insert sarcastic smirk here.

see ya next week...and as always whereever you are....boomer sooner!
