POOOORRRR TEXAAAASSSSSSSS!!!

Well the sooners rebounded pretty well this weekend....28-21.

Gut check saturday as they say. Nice win for the sooners....not perfect on defense, but give the shorthorns some credit. Slingin' Sammy Bradford looked awesome. And along with Malcolm Kelly and Demarco Murray, the offense definitely made up for their inept performance up in boulder.

Sooners move up to #6/#5 in the polls, and would be sitting at #2 if they could have held on versus the buffs. Big upset of #2 USC by the 39 point underdog Stanford Cardinal. It's all good.
The sooners look like they are in good position. Crazy season so far.

my top 5

1. LSU

2. California

3. Oklahoma

4. Ohio State

5. Oregon

Great to see the sooners take care of business. the loser of the RRR was in bad shape. Fortunately for the Sooners...4 of 6 at home, including a huge game versus #11 Mizzou in norman next week. ESPN Gameday will be there...and no matter how much ESPN bugs the tar out of me...it's still nice for to have them cover the sooners.

I have officially told the family that we will not be making the 7 hour trip from Omaha. Even though Liz has been a trooper...i think it's still too much for her and the boys. We might break down and make the trip down for the A&M game...

Should be a good game....the defense will have to play discipline ball...i think we show up. the texas and colorado games were good for the team.

traveling back from Rapid City tomorrow.....catch you next week.

welcome....

not the best time to start a blog, as i am still recooping from a surprising loss of my beloved sooners to the buffaloes....

24-27...ugh

many things can be learned from a loss...adversity you know is the light to our true character. as i have been told, it's about how you handle adversity. however, for me, i hate to lose, no matter...i could care less about learning how to lose, i just want to win. but the best thing about losing in a game or in business is that it causes self reflection. it's about being grateful for things that mean the most....family and health (see picture above)...but whether it's for your favorite sports team or business partner, it's about sackin' up, getting over it quickly, and making sure you learn from it.

water under the bridge you know...

i'm sure coach stoops has the team ready for texas...if anything this loss will show them that they can't just roll out there with the idea that the other team is going to give up. my other hope is that coach stoops will learn to stick the dagger in the heart of his opponent, and not continue to hang the defense out to dry. i appreciate playing conservative when you have a 17 point lead, but you can't run the same run stretch play over and over again.

oh well...i will survive. luckily i live in Omaha, and i have a ton of husker fans around me who have shared their thoughts on our loss as well....it's definitley moved me through the 12 steps quickly...insert sarcastic smirk here.

see ya next week...and as always whereever you are....boomer sooner!
